Hi everyone,
It's me again, Emily — the multitasking mom who spends half her time chasing flags and the other half chasing after Hanna.
The other day, after yet another little adventure where Hanna decided to explore the park without telling me (future pentester in the making, I swear!), I realized I needed to teach her a simple, fun way to always find her way back to me. So, we sat down with a cup of hot chocolate and I introduced her to something I use all the time in my CTF challenges — the what3words system.
For those of you who don’t know, what3words is a cool way to pinpoint any location in the world using just three random words. It’s like magic, but geeky and practical — perfect for us.
I even made her a little rhyme to help her remember:
If you don't know where I am,
Three words I'll give to you,
Charging through the forest green,
Starting fresh and new.
Follow these simple Fines,
And you'll find me in no time.
She loves it now. Every time we go to the playground, I tell her the three words for that spot so she can practice finding her way back. It’s our little game — a mix of tech, parenting, and a bit of real-life CTF.
If you ever need to find me… maybe these three words will help you too. 😉
To continue the game, use the name of my blog.
Stay safe & keep hunting,
Emily
